| Turn mold inside out and apply mold release. Ease Release 200 works well (available at A-R Products or Smooth-On Inc., see below). Sometimes a good dusting of talcum powder is all that is needed. In some cases, both talcum powder and spray release is a good idea, especially if you are having trouble with sticking. Spray release first, and then dust the inside of the mold with talc. Spread talc evenly with a clean brush. Shake out or blow out the excess talcum powder before continuing. Mix up a small amount of Magic Sculp and do a test on a non-critical part of the mold (e.g., latex mold flange) to be sure the mold release you are using is effective. A mold can be ruined or seriously damaged if Magic Sculp or other casting materials bonds to it. | ![]() |
