Hi Mike and Cathy.
Thank you for everything. I used brass for linkages for mechanics and levers. I have blinkers, side to side self-centering eyes and raising eye brows on same linkage, and the jaw is on wire, pulley, and shaft type lever. All mechanics are adjustable with out removing any linkages or springs and all stops are incorpated into linkage bends. I read your book very motivational. If you think he's good enough, you have my permission to use my pictures on your web site.
I almost forgot to tell about finishing details. The hair is my own from my hairbrushes, cleaned, shaped, clear coated, put on backing and glued. The glasses were my grand fathers, the clothes I bought, and the vest I made. He's got an ear ring i made. A ring, harley watch, a harley lighter and pouch on his belt which I cut and put a snap on back to join together. Also made a wallet with a chain & key. I made a smoke out of a piece of paper and colored it. Installed a red (l.e.d) light with tin foil and invisible tape with black and grey highlighting. Ran the wire up the sleeve to a control stick (use left hand to control arm and smoke) where I mounted the tiny push button switch and battery unit.
Thank your wife please. She was very helpful on the phone. Thanks again for good service, good product and good people.

After several months, my Sparky figure is 99% complete (a few tweeks and wig velcro job). I can't remember having so much fun with a project (you're right--it won't be my last)! It was due in very large part to your (and your wife's) artistry and craftsmanship in producing a (cast parts) of the highest quality. Thank you!
I've enclosed some photos of my guy (not named yet). Not the greatest camera work, but you can see what I ended up with. I'm proud of it! Your book, the photos from your web site, and Al Stevens' article covered it all so well, there was very little guess work. I took my time, experimented, used mock-ups, and repainted the access cover 6 times before getting the colors I thought would work. Of course, I used your Sparky as a model goal to shoot for (hope you don't mind). I'd appreciate any comments you have on the work I did.
I'll be placing another order as soon as I decide on which one to do. I'm thinking of adding blinkers this time. The upper lip snear I find fascinating, but will probably pass on that this next time around--looks really difficult.
Thanks again for your great work, Mike.
This Fred was assembled by the special effects experts at 'The Character Shop' who does many high tech animatronic special effects for commercials and movies.
Most of the movements were radio controlled: Head turn, torso turn, jaw, eyes side/side, blinks, and brow moves. These moves were split up among two transmitters and puppeteers. A third person operated the cable-controlled body up/down, and a fourth did arm/hand movements via rod control.
So, thank you for producing such a high quality product, and being so quick and helpful. I now have my own pro style vent figure! (Don't worry, I didn't re-sell the modified figure to them; I own it.)
Thanks again for everything!

I never would have attempted this project without Mike's amazing head kit. The forethought, quality and years of experience really showed through in the finished product. In just a little over a week, I was able to transform his kit into a wonderful high-end figure (I have named him Logan). If you have any reservations about building your own figure, you can set those aside. Mike thought of every minor detail for you. I know you will have as much fun as I did bringing one of his kits to life. I would highly recommend his products and services to anyone!!!

Clinton Detweiler took me through his shop in Colorado in the early 1980s and that's when I got the bug. Clinton said that I was fortunate as few ever had the privilege. We made composition figures in those days from wood putty but yours are far superior and much more durable.
Attached is a couple of your heads. The redhead is one of my wife Mary. Little Mary sits on my knee and tells me everything I like to hear (kinda like when we were courting 43 years ago).
The dark figure is Hispanic and recently received amnesty. Her name is Taco Belle and she now lives in North Carolina.
Thanks for bringing out the kid in us.

Thanks for getting "Sparky" and parts to us, we got it done! Michael is raving about your components and what a joy they were to work with, unlike some of the others we have tried. Pictures of Michael and Butch (as we have renamed him) are included with this email.
Hope everything is okay with you and your family. We wish you well.

Finally finished my kit a couple of months ago. I learned so much from this project I can't begin to tell you. The construction of the figure was one area of learning. More important to me was the mental focus and creative outlet your kit provided me. Your products are really wonderful and have helped me create something I've thought about for a long, long, time. From my communications with you I can tell that you are one quality individual and I would not hesitate to business with you again.
Just finished putting the final touches on "Flik"! After all your input and guidance on my Marshall restoration, I had to get your cast parts to make a figure the way I wanted. With the help of your book (which Flik has a hard time putting down), and Al Stevens' web site - it was a snap! Flik has a 360* turnning head, slot jaw mouth, side to side self centering eyes and, shell blinkers. I was able to make all the eye movement work with one brass rod! The blinkers were made with ping pong balls (a lot easier than I ever imagined)!
I also learned that Magic Sculpt can be your best friend if you want to do a major facelift......Fliks entire face was resculpted except for his chin. He was hand painted using artists oils, and I built a wooden body..., again following the directions in your book. I had so much fun with this project that I can't wait to build another one, and another one..........! I don't think I could EVER have afforded to buy a finished pro figure of this quality.
Thank YOU Michael for such a wonderful product!
I bought 2 sets of castings from you about 2 months ago. One from your website and the other was an ebay auction I won. Here are some pictures of Proffessor Hoodwink. My first figure. He's an affable sort who claims to know a little something about everything. Your book is really wonderful and was of tremendous help. I made his shell blinkers out of the preformed clear packaging from a set of ping pong balls. They work great! His hair was applied to a thin skull cap made out of magic sculp and is removable for maintenance. I did alter his features to get the look of an older fella. His fez and glasses I also made by hand. I had a few set backs along the way but enjoyed every moment. Al Rosson
What a phenominal kit! I have found a new hobby I can enjoy in my own home. I spent roughly 4 hours a night for 2 weeks to complete the job. I hope to order my next kit very soon. Thanks again for a quality product! Sincerely, Kirk Wickizer
Kirk says about his second figure...... This was the funnest project! I call him Herman Nostrilli. This one took me a full three weeks to complete. He has raising eyebrows like my last one (Jeffrey). I spring load the eyeball lever so when I pull down it activates the brows. This keeps my levers down to two which will acommodate right or left handers. Again I want to thank you Mike for prompt delivery and a dependable, quality product. If I could just improve my skills as a ventriloquist I could make a few bucks without selling him! Thanks, Kirk Wickizer
"Got my parts yesterday. I have to say Mr. Brose every time I think you can't improve your products you do. I love all the prearranged stuff inside Sparky's head. The axle rod holders and the predrilled eyebrows are a nice touch! Thanks! John Godsey"
"I purchased both of your books, and then your Fred head, eye tray, eyes, blinkers, arms and body. Prior to this build, I constructed three other 2T characters. I just want to say that the design, fabrication and quality of your products is far superior to all that I have purchased from other vendors. Far, far superior! Thank you, you're a fine craftsman!! Dick Buechler"
